Photo & Media COnsent Policy

Effective Date: April 15, 2026

At Heal Forward Initiative, we believe that the dignity of every person we serve comes before any content or campaign. This policy explains how we handle photos, videos, and stories related to our work.

    Our Commitment to Dignity

We will never photograph, film, or record any individual experiencing homelessness without their explicit, informed, and voluntary consent. We will never use imagery or stories in a way that exploits, demeans, or reduces the dignity of the people we serve.

     Consent Requirements

Before capturing any photo or video of a person we serve, our team members must:

Clearly introduce themselves and explain how the image will be used

Obtain explicit verbal or written consent before recording

Respect any refusal or withdrawal of consent immediately and without question

Offer the individual the ability to review and approve the content before it is published

    Volunteer & Team Content:

By volunteering with or joining Heal Forward Initiative, you consent to being photographed or filmed during outreach and events for use in our social media, website, and promotional materials. If you have concerns about being photographed, please speak with a team lead before your shift.

    Website & Social Media Content

Images and videos displayed on this website and our social media channels are used with the consent of the individuals shown. If you appear in content on our Site and would like it removed, please contact us at info@healforwardinitiative.org and we will act promptly.
