At Heal Forward Initiative, we are dedicated to uplifting the homeless community in Calgary, AB, by distributing essential supplies through customized kits. Being a not-for-profit initiative that is Christian-rooted and youth-led, we operate entirely on a volunteer basis and believe in the power of compassion and community. Our mission is not just about providing items, but about restoring dignity and hope to those in need. Our passionate team of volunteers works tirelessly to ensure that every individual we serve feels valued and supported.
Every person we serve is treated with full respect, no judgement, no conditions.
Christian-rooted and youth-led, we partner with local churches and neighbours to meet people where they are.
Faith is the foundation we're built on. We hope we can give those we serve faith too.
Our Story
Heal Forward Initiative didn't start in a boardroom or with a business plan. We started with no committees, councils, funding or anything else. We were simply a group of young people with a passion to make a difference and the heart to make it happen.
I started HFI because ever since I was young, seeing someone experiencing homelessness put a rock in my stomach. Others shared that same experience and the will to want something to change, so we started planning and making what seemed like a crazy idea more of a reality than I ever thought.
That being said, HFI is still in the early stages of our mission. HFI is not a large organisation, we’re students. Students without a building, a budget, or decades of history, just a goal and faith that we are going to get there.
